Brian just posted a new clip from one of his works in progress, Geronimo Country, a documentary about the famous Apache leader and the landscape where he lived, thrived and, eventually, surrendered. These days, that landscape is a rough and tumble area of New Mexico, better known as a playground for drug cartels than a hallowed hall for remembering heroes.
In this clip, expert Jerry Eagan explains how naturally formed holes in rocks presented an advantage to savvy Apache runners looking to thwart cavalry pursuit.*
